TampaRunners (“we,” “us”) runs tamparunners.com, a guide to races, running clubs, and group runs around Tampa Bay. This policy covers what we collect when you use the site, how we use it, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

Information you give us.

  • Newsletter sign-up: your email address.
  • Contact form: your name, your email address, and, if you fill them in, your company or club and your message.

Information collected automatically.

  • Analytics: we use Google Analytics to see how people use the site: pages viewed, time on page, referring site, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and clicks on outbound links such as race registration buttons. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to do this.
  • Server logs: our hosting provider (Vercel) records standard request data such as IP address, browser type, and the time of the request, for security and to keep the site running.

We do not collect payment information. Race registration and payment happen on third-party sites.

How we use it

  • To send the newsletter or new-article notices you signed up for.
  • To reply to messages and to review race or club listing requests.
  • To find out which pages and features are useful, and to improve the site.
  • To keep the site secure and stop abuse.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Third-party services

The site uses these providers, and each one handles data under its own privacy policy:

  • Google Analytics: site analytics.
  • Google Maps: the embedded maps on race pages.
  • Google Fonts: web fonts.
  • Vercel: website hosting.
  • Microsoft Azure: hosting for the services that store newsletter sign-ups and contact form submissions.

Registration links. Some “Register” links go to race registration platforms such as RunSignUp and include our affiliate code. When you follow one, that platform may set its own cookies to credit the referral. For details, see our Affiliate Disclosure.

Cookies and your choices

  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
  • You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to remove you at any time.

Club rosters and runner profiles

Some club pages list members’ names and race results provided by the club or taken from public race results. If you’re listed and want your profile corrected or removed, email us and we’ll take care of it.

Data retention

We keep newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe. We keep contact form messages for as long as we need them to answer you and keep reasonable business records. Analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics retention settings.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To do that, email info@tamparunners.com. We’ll answer within a reasonable time and may need to confirm who you are before we make any change.

Children

The site is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Security

We protect the information we collect with reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll post the new version here and change the “Last updated” date.
